GO REDSOX!!! YANKEES SUCK!!!

Help us support the Sox! Since "Cowboy up" is apparantly owned by some firm in Wyoming, it's time to get back to the real thing -Yankees Suck!! Listen to our Yankess Suck song. Pass it out to your friends and burn it onto CD's... without fear of prosecution from Lars Ulrich! Listen to it while you turn over cars and burn stuff down! Spread your love for the Sox and your disdain for the Yankers. Request it from your favorite radio stations. If they don't have it, tell em to get it.. or else... and make it clear these are not idle threats!

Oh and check out this... pretty funny.

So, the Greatest Final Show Ever is taking place on Friday, 7/25 at the Linwood. It is rightfully named this as it the final show of the Greatest Band Ever, BenderX.

I know what you're thinking;
"HOLY SHEEP SHIT, what the fuck are you talking about?!?!?! You guys are the greatest band ever, you can't break up?!?!?! What will I do with my life if you're not around?!?!?! Why do you keep using that combination of question marks and exclamation points to show my emotion?!?!?!

Well, don't fret too much.
  1. We're not "exactly" breaking up.
  2. We've got a gaggle of new songs (read: three, maybe fourÖ).
  3. You can still relive the magic by just getting the CD or one of our "Impeach Bush" t-shirts.
Okay, so to address these one at a time

  1. We're not breaking up. I (Scott) got accepted into Fordham Law where I intend on forging a career fighting against the man from the inside. John Ashcroft has made it his mission to take away your civil liberties and I intend to do something about it!!! Öor at least give the guy a wedgie. We'll be rehearsing in Boston and playing a show or two during the "school year" and then more during breaks. The rock has not ended, but we'll give you more time in between shows to savor the experience. Duncan and Joe may moonlight in some other Boston bands, and if they do, we'll give you more details here where you can catch them
  2. We have written some great new songs. I mention this mostly because it is the one thing that is going to ensure that we continue to play together. We've written some of our favorite material to date, and will be unveiling a bunch of those songs at our "Final Show" on Friday, so make sure to come. We are hoping to do some recording next summer and have a second CD out by the winter, so don't think that you've heard the last of us.
  3. We have MERCH!!! We made these great T-Shirts that you have to check out. Spread the word that Bush's lying ass deserves the same fate that his party gave to a democrat last term in officeÖ tell your leaders that you're a lot more comfortable with them lying about adultery (and since adultery is lying, isn't that really a double negativeÖ can you really NOT be lying when it comes to adultery?Ö this should have been clinton's excuse) We also have copies of our international platinum debut album (it's platinum in Nova Scotia and Greece, but I think that means we sold one copy), Hooks, available. Why not give us $10, and we'll give you a CD and a T-ShirtÖ you were just going to buy airplane glue with it anyway?
So, in summation:

  • We expect to see all of you on Friday showing your support.
  • We expect all of you to get your share of BenderX merchandise.
  • We expect all of you to write to us and tell us lurid tales, like the guy who picked up a woman buy humming her soccer mom, or the girl that let her boyfriend know she might be up for "variations" by singing him a few bars of Dirt Path.
  • We expect all of you to hate the government.

Three great shows to report on. First, Wednesday at the Abbey lounge with Anushka Pop and The Goodbyes. There was that whole start of the war thing going on, but that didn't stop the rock! We thoroughly impressed at least two of the Abbey regulars who greatly enjoyed the show from the other side of the bar.

Next up, we'd like to report a great time was had by all at the British American Club in Fitchburg. We've been busy systematically tracking down, and dealing with every underage little punk that left the show before we went on. You know who you are.... And saying it was your bed time doesn't fly with us. Thanks to the Chumlies for setting up that show and inviting us out. We hope to do it again soon.

And.. our triumphant return Saturday night to Jacques in Boston. Cat Puckett's guitarist was damn good!... and Cat's singing wasn't so bad either ; )
(amazing as usual). I heard several mentions of this being the favorite Army of Jasons show EVER. And the Stoves... Truely amazing. Everyone should see the Stoves. I wish I were writing about BenderX for the Stoves website instead...

Thanks to everyone we played with, and to all those who came out to see us!

Breaking News - Police Find Guitarist's Partial Nudity to be in Violation of Code

The Place - The Choppin' Block. The Time - Friday, 2/21/03
It went down like this: The police were "cracking down" on local music venues in wake of the recent tragedy in Warwick, RI. They entered Boston's most prestigious night club, The Choppin' Block, five minutes into the set of local music Icons, BenderX. After prodding the proprietors of the club for permits and liscences, the police than turned their ire onto the band. Upon noticing that the stage contained a half-naked rocker, wearing only high tops, a pair of boxer shorts and a smile, they informed the club that the band was in violation of several codes. That band member was Duncan Sutherland, lead guitarist and rock music legend. These officers of the law obviously didn't anticipate the crack staff of the mission hill club asking what these codes were. They were met with an authoritative, "that's none of your concern, just shut them off." Upon hearing this, the club workers, knowing their rights, told the police that they would have to either cite the band/club with some wrongdoing, or leave. The police left, but not before having sat through 40 minutes of ear-blistering punk-pop-metal. They won't soon return to the Choppin' Block.

Ok so we got some complaints about not updating the news enough... so here you go.

This just in... our "new" CD Hooks is finally, totally and completely done... in every sense of the word. Recorded, mastered, duplicated, bar-coded and specially wrapped in that fancy plastic shit. Soon to be in stores everywhere... we're planning on going down to CD-Spins and see how much they'll pay us for some...
They'll be available at shows as well as here on the website. Anyone that's already requested one... they're shipping out as we speak and you'll get an email in the next week letting you know it's on the way.. like actually in the mail with a stamp on it and everything... feel free to duplicate them and give them out liberally...

Next up... Thanks to all who came out to the Safari Lounge last weekend... That kicked ass. Special thanks to the Parapalegics for bringing such a great fucking crowd. It's always a great time when we play there. And check out the Safari's new bathrooms... WOW! I almost feel safe taking a piss, now that the ominous, gaping hole where a urinal should be is gone. The new PA sounds great too. If you haven't played/seen a show there yet... you should. Can't wait to get back down to Providence again. And thanks to the girl who sang back-up vocals for most of our set... hope to see you at another show.. you should request a CD from the site so you'll be better prepared next time.

Ok well I guess that's it for now.. but rest assured.. the "fans" HAVE spoken and we'll try to update the news a little more frequently

Happy Valentines day... this is a good time to try and talk your girlfriend into oral and/or anal sex...

So, "Volvo driving Soccer Mom" huh? You think you're real cute Art Alexakis!

He writes on his band's web site: "When Capitol sends the CD out for reviews, some writer somewhere will send it to somebody who will download it. I don't like it. It's something I've worked on for a year and put my heart and soul into and I would like to be able to show it to the world in my own way and in my own time. But that said, if you do download it, and you like the record, I would like to ask you to buy it when it comes out. It's the right thing to do."

Don't think we don't know the truth, buddy. You're one of the thousands of people that have downloaded it off of OUR site!!!!

We'll fix you!
Next Show: The Halls of Valhalla...
